Ingredients

Panini • French bread, cut in 1” (2.5 cm) thick, diagonal slices- find it in the bakery section, in bagged loaves • Giardiniera sauce - 2 oz.(57g) (see below) • Thin sliced ham - 4 slices (2 oz.)(57g) • Hard salami - 2 slices (1 oz.)(28g) • Swiss cheese – 2 slices Giardiniera Sauce (Hold time – 3 days) • Giardiniera mix - 18 oz. (510g) drained, finely chopped - find it jarred, by pickle section • Garlic powder - 1 tsp. (2 g) • Light mayo - ½ cup (5 oz.)(142g) - buy real mayonnaise (not salad dressing spread) to hold integrity of sauce together.

Procedure

1. Spread 1 oz. (28g) Giardiniera sauce on each side of French bread slice (see picture). 2. Place 2 slices ham, folded over, on each side. 3. Place 1 slice of Swiss cheese on each side. 4. Place 1 slice of salami on top of cheese (see picture). 5. Place both halves, open face, directly in the oven on the above settings. 6. Remove from oven with oven paddle. (Note: Salami will be caramelized on top for added flavor.)
